BMX Bike Guide

When considering a BMX bikes thought should be given to the surface in which it will be used on as this will determine the tyre selected, these are usually known as street or dirt tyres the former as a slick surface and the latter has a deeper tread.

If it is for race use then a lightweight aluminium frame should be choosen if it is for stunts or half pipe use a steel frame should be choosen for the strenght it offers.

The braking systems on BMX vary some come with V brales, calliper and U brakes each have their advantages and disadvantages, the V brake is the easiest to maintain.

The lesser expensive bmx come with a one piece crank which is more likely to require more maitainance than the three peice crank on the higher spec bmx.
